Pro Velo was set up in 1992 to promote cycling as a means of transport and as a way of getting to know a place, particularly a town. The association arranges a wide range of guided bicycle tours aimed at discovering different aspects of Brussels. Don't expect a fast ride - this isn't the Tour de France! On the contrary, the pace is gentle and adapted to those taking part. The subjects on offer appeal to all tastes, ranging from Art Nouveau through freemasonry, comic books, greenways and waterways, and brasseries, to the Sonian Forest (forêt de Soignes/Zoniënwoud). The tours run from April to October, and special tours for groups can be arranged at any time of year.
