On 17 & 18 October, come and discover buildings in the city centre and also in the Western districts of Brussels such as Anderlecht, Koekelbergh, Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, Jette and Laeken.
Making the effort to travel a little further from the centre will be rewarded by delightful discoveries of buildings which are undeservedly little-known, including many Art Deco hidden gems, of many sorts, including private houses, office buildings, former warehouses and a medical research foundation.
The city centre also offers an incredible variety of buildings used by the service sector who gained a monopoly of use of the area’s buildings during the twentieth century: hotels, a brasserie, shops and newspaper offices.
Finally, a short detour to the Marolles district will reveal splendid Art Nouveau educational buildings and an exhibition by the City of Brussels Social Services Department on hospital architecture.
